Bird Construction Inc. is a Canadian construction and maintenance company operating from coast-to-coast-to-coast. The Company provides a range of construction services from new construction for industrial, infrastructure and institutional markets; to industrial maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) services, heavy civil construction and mine support services; as well as vertical infrastructure including, electrical, mechanical, and specialty trades. The Company uses a variety of contract delivery methods, including construction management, cost plus, integrated project delivery (IPD), alliance, progressive design build, stipulated sum, unit price, standard specification design-build, alternative finance projects, complex design-build, and public private partnership (PPP) contract delivery methods. It specializes in civil infrastructure construction across a wide array of projects, such as airports, seaports, rail, bridges and structures, earthworks, energy projects, and utilities.

Bird continues to deliver strong results, with 28% year over year revenue growth and margin accretion setting the stage for significant further improvements in earnings and cash flow for full-year 2024 over 2023. The Company’s combined backlog of contracted and awarded work continues to grow with favourable embedded margins, and the accretive acquisition of NorCan Electric in January added new specialized self-perform capabilities and recurring revenue to Bird's already extensive resume. The Company’s strategic focus on being a leading collaborative construction company continues to drive growth and better outcomes for all parties.

06-19-2024, Bird's Q1 construction revenue totaled ~$688M, reflecting a ~28% increase YoY. Its adjusted EBITDA margin increased to 3.5% from 3% in 1Q'23. Bird ended the quarter with a strong liquidity position, including ~$133.6M of cash equivalents, and an additional $205.5M available under its Syndicated Credit Facility. It had a strong backlog and a pending backlog of $3.5B and $3.4B, respectively including $1B of MSA and recurring revenue to be earned over the next six years. The company added $697.7M in securements in Q1. BIRD announced the acquisition of the assets of NorCan for a total consideration of $11M in Q1.
